Karma's Kitchen was born on February 20, 2020, inspired by my vision to provide handmade, heartfelt food to nourish the body and soul. My focus in this first year has been to share food with frontline friends families in healthcare and education and provide meals to anyone in need.
Everything I make comes from my two hands, my heart and my passion for feeding people.
Many recipes come from my family's kitchen and reflect my Sri Lankan-American heritage.
I am very fortunate to be part of a thriving food community in SE Michigan and source locally grown and produced ingredients whenever possible.
Karma's Kitchen is currently just me, Ashini. It is lovely to meet you and thank you for reading and learning!
While I am currently a one-woman show, I am part of an amazing ensemble cast of wonderful human beings in my home; my parents, siblings and their families in California; and my tribe in the Ann Arbor area.
Thank you to all who love and support me and graciously tolerate my obsession with recipe testing, binge watching cooking shows, geeking out about weird new products and kitchen gadgets, being my taste testers and sharing thoughtful feedback on everything I make.
At this moment, Karma's Kitchen is in my house, where I live and work with my husband, my two sons, and my three cats. It has worked very well during the pandemic, but I would love to be able to serve a broader base from a more central location.
I am hoping to grow into a commercial kitchen space this spring, so if you have one or know of one in need of a tenant, please do let me know!
